Yoga Pole Monkey Style

This class introduces students to our simple philosophy. Our mirrorless and intimate environment helps students focus on intuitively sensing proper alignment during yoga postures. Warm-up begins with monkey crawling across the floor. After increasing the heart rate, we work on some basic postures in a simple sequence that culminates in Natarajasana (Lord of the Dance) to energize the practice. Students will experience a gentle, yet challenging and rewarding, Yoga Pole class. Wear regular gym clothes – sweat pants, leggings, tank tops, t-shirts are OK. No jewelry.

Conditioning

Carolyn Chiu's Conditioning class is driven by the basics of gymnastics. Students will be working in a circuit training style where each student spends a brief amount of time on one station. The targeted areas of strengthening include hollow body, hand grip strength, arm and shoulder strength, core strength, glute and leg strength and balancing strength. The movements are a combination of static holds and repetitions to improve muscle memory and explosion power. This class is suggested for those desiring to improve their current pole and aerial training. Apparatuses include pole, aerial hoop, hammock and trapeze. Wear shorts if you want to do more pole conditioning and wear leggings if you want to do more aerial conditioning.
